Sports Hunter South Sudan has archived this previously published report concerning Sudanese international centre-back Mohammed Kisra and his contractual dispute with South Sudanese club Jamus SC.

Through a reliable source, Sports Hunter South Sudan obtained details from Kisra, who spoke publicly about the dispute following what he said was the expiration of his one-year agreement with Jamus SC.

Kisra, formerly of Sudanese giants Al Merrikh, joined Jamus SC in 2024 after terminating his contract in Sudan.

“Coach Jongo called and asked me to join him at Jamus SC. I accepted. The club president also contacted me, and I told him I was coming for one season, with the option to renew if things went well,” Kisra said.

Missed CAF Competition but Played Key Role Domestically

Despite arriving early, Kisra said he was unable to feature in Jamus SC's CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round campaign because of International Transfer Certificate (ITC) issues, a problem he said affected several players at the time.

He nevertheless played an important role as Jamus enjoyed a highly successful domestic campaign.

Among the club's achievements were:

- Juba Football Association Super Cup, against Malakia SC

- South Sudan Super Cup, against El Merriekh Bentiu

- South Sudan Premier League title, completed unbeaten

- Juba FA Cup

- South Sudan Cup

- National Cup

Contract Dispute Emerges

The dispute emerged when Jamus SC prepared for a pre-season camp in Serbia.

According to Kisra, he was asked to provide his passport to facilitate visa processing.

“I told the team manager I had no issue giving my passport, but my contract had ended and we hadn’t sat down to discuss renewal. He said okay. Later, I heard people claiming I still had another year left. That shocked me.”

Kisra said he subsequently asked the club to produce the contract showing that he remained under an additional year of obligation.

According to his account, the club could not produce the document at the time.

"They said they couldn’t find the document. I reminded them I’m a foreign player — not local — and we signed internal agreements when I registered under Juba Football Association. Mine clearly stated it was a one-year deal, with stamps and signatures.”

Kisra said he then approached the Juba Football Association to verify the agreement, but claimed that the document was not available in his registration file.

"I asked the JFA about the agreement, but they said only the registration form was available.”

Attempts to Resolve the Dispute

Kisra said efforts were made to arrange a meeting between the parties to resolve the disagreement.

He said Jamus SC Assistant Secretary Emma proposed a meeting at the club president's residence, with then-head coach John Alier, popularly known as Jongo, also expected to attend.

However, Kisra said the meeting did not take place.

“I called Emma the lawyer that evening, but he didn’t pick up. I informed Coach Jongo that I couldn’t reach anyone. The situation became unclear, and I didn’t understand what was going on anymore.”

Questions Over Registration and ITC

Kisra further claimed that he later discovered that his ITC had not been received from Sudan, raising questions, in his view, about the validity of his registration in South Sudan.

He also said the copy of his registration form in his possession was missing a signature, date and contract duration.

The issue became more significant when Kisra attempted to sign with Kator FC.

According to Kisra, the South Sudan Football Federation blocked the move on the grounds that he remained contracted to Jamus SC.

“I told them, if Jamus says I’m under contract, let them show the paperwork. I’m ready to defend myself before the Players Association, SSFF, or even FIFA if necessary.”

Case Submitted to Players Association

Kisra said the South Sudan Football Federation advised him to take the matter to the Players Association.

He said the Players Association had agreed to hear the case and that he was awaiting its decision.

“I submitted my case, and they’ve promised to listen. Now I’m waiting for their decision. I came here professionally, and I want to leave the same way — with respect and fairness.”
