JUBA, South Sudan — 19 August 2026: The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has instructed the General Assembly of South Sudan Premier League club Al-Hilal Wau to convene and address the club’s governance crisis following the mass resignation of members of its board.
The directive was issued during the SSFF Executive Committee’s Extraordinary Meeting No. 003 of 2026.
According to the federation’s resolution, the Al-Hilal Wau General Assembly must convene to address the issues surrounding the board resignations and establish a steering committee within seven days.
The steering committee will be responsible for addressing the club’s immediate administrative situation and providing feedback to the SSFF on the steps taken.
The development comes as the football federation continues to address governance and administrative matters involving clubs and football associations across South Sudan.
Al-Hilal Wau are one of the clubs competing in the South Sudan Premier League, the country’s top division.
The SSFF’s intervention is aimed at ensuring the club’s administration remains functional and that the governance issues are addressed through the appropriate football structures.
