TANGA, Tanzania — Future Stars Football Academy Technical Director Bilal Felix has begun his CAF A Diploma coaching programme in Tanga, Tanzania, representing South Sudan in a 12-month advanced coach-education course.
Felix is among 25 coaches participating in the programme, which brings together football professionals from across Africa and Europe, including Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania and Bulgaria.
The CAF A Diploma is designed to develop coaches in high-level football coaching, leadership, tactical understanding, performance analysis, teaching and player development.
The programme combines theoretical learning with practical coaching, internships, assignments, presentations, video and match analysis, group work and continuous assessment.
Key areas of study include football knowledge, leadership and management, physiology and anatomy, football sciences and nutrition, teaching methodology, football fitness, Laws of the Game, scouting and talent identification, periodisation, training planning, performance analysis, psychology, communication, professionalism and player development.
A major focus of the course is the practical application of coaching knowledge, with participants expected to demonstrate their ability to analyse, plan, deliver, observe, correct and evaluate training sessions.
Felix's participation provides an opportunity to exchange coaching knowledge and experience with coaches from different football cultures while further developing his technical expertise.
As Technical Director of Future Stars Football Academy, his CAF A Diploma journey is also expected to contribute to the academy's coaching methodology and player-development structures.
Felix will continue the 12-month programme in Tanga as he works towards an advanced CAF coaching qualification while representing South Sudan on an international coaching platform.
