JUBA, South Sudan — South Sudan international winger David Sebit made his debut for El Merriekh SC Bentiu on Saturday evening, 15th Aug, 2026, coming off the bench in the club’s 1–0 defeat to Al Ghazala SC Wau in the South Sudan Super Cup final at Bulluk Playground in Juba.
Sebit was introduced in the second half by head coach Claude Loboko as El Merriekh looked to find a way back into the contest.
However, Al Ghazala produced the decisive moment through Kuot Chan.
El Merriekh lost possession in midfield under pressure before Al Ghazala quickly played a long ball forward. Chan controlled the pass, drove forward and unleashed a powerful strike to score the only goal of the final.
The defeat denied El Merriekh the Super Cup trophy, while Sebit’s appearance marked the beginning of his competitive journey with the Bentiu-based club.
Despite the result, the South Sudan international will now turn his attention to the new season as El Merriekh look to build on their domestic campaign.
