JUBA, South Sudan — Juba Football Association First Division side Al Huriya FC will play their first pre-season friendly of the 2026/27 when they face Future Stars Football Academy U20 at Zahra Playground on Wednesday at 3:00pm.
Al Huriya began their pre-season preparations on 16 July 2026 and will use Wednesday’s encounter to assess their squad, build match fitness and continue preparations ahead of the new season.
The fixture also carries a strong connection between the two sides, with five Future Stars graduates now playing for Al Huriya, alongside two coaches who have been part of the academy setup.
The former Future Stars players are Silva Mador “Cavani”, Emmanuel Angelo “Kulang”, Godfrey Geri, Philip Soka and Daniel Bosso.
On the coaching side, Samuel Gabriel serves as Al Huriya’s head coach, while Jadallah Peter Wani is also part of the club’s technical setup. Their involvement underlines the pathway Future Stars has created for young players and coaches to progress into senior football.
For Future Stars U20, the match presents an opportunity to test the academy’s young players against an experienced JFA First Division side. Such encounters expose developing players to the physical, tactical and mental demands of senior football while providing valuable experience in their transition towards the next level.
The two sides last met on 9 January 2024, with Al Huriya recording a 2-0 victory.
Wednesday’s meeting offers a fresh contest, with Al Huriya focused on building momentum for the new campaign and Future Stars U20 continuing its player-development programme under the academy’s philosophy of “Empowering Youth Through Football.”
