Juba - Seven teams remain without a win in the 2026/27 South Sudan Premier League after the completion of Week 2, with defending champions El Merriekh SC Bentiu among the clubs still searching for their first three points.
The opening two weeks have produced a mixture of draws, defeats and late drama as clubs battle to establish themselves in the new campaign.
El Merriekh SC Bentiu have collected two points from two matches. Jean Claude Loboko’s side were held to a dramatic 2–2 draw by debutants Munuki SC, conceding in the final seconds of five minutes of added time, before drawing 1–1 with Super Stars FC Bor.
Kator FC are also without a victory after two draws. Ramzi Sebit’s Juba-based side drew 2–2 with Holy Family FC before Olympic FC held them to a 1–1 draw.
Another Juba club yet to win is Atlabara FC, who opened with a 1–1 draw against South Sudan Super Cup champions Al Ghazala SC before drawing again against Salam FC Aweil.
For Al Ghazala SC, the Black and Yellow have managed one point from their opening two league matches. After drawing 1–1 with Atlabara, they suffered a 3–1 defeat to one-time Premier League champions Jamus SC.
The defeat was followed by the resignation of head coach Rezik A. Hakim, two days before Al Ghazala faced Singida Black Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup. The Wau side subsequently suffered a 7–1 home defeat.
Super Stars FC Bor began their campaign with a 2–0 defeat to Jamus SC under interim coach Abdul Majid before earning a valuable point against defending champions El Merriekh SC Bentiu in a 1–1 draw.
Olympic FC also have one point after two matches. The Renk-based side suffered a 4–0 defeat to Salam FC Aweil before responding with a 1–1 draw against Kator FC.
Head coach John Garang was unavailable for the Kator match because of his involvement with the South Sudan U15 team at the CECAFA African Schools Football Championship qualifiers, leaving assistant coach Norman Peter to oversee the side.
At the bottom are Koryom FC, who have lost both of their opening matches. They suffered a 7–2 defeat to Al Hilal SC of Wau before losing 4–0 to Holy Family FC of Rumbek.
Koryom have conceded 11 goals in two matches, making theirs the most difficult start among the seven winless teams.
With two weeks completed, the question now is: which of the seven clubs will be the first to finally break their duck?
