The Sudan Football Association (SFA) has officially confirmed Juba National Stadium as the venue for Sudan’s opening match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Ethiopia.
The match is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, with kick-off set for 4:00pm Juba and Khartoum time.
The confirmation comes while Juba National Stadium is undergoing rehabilitation works, with preparations expected to continue ahead of the scheduled international fixture.
Sudan will begin their qualifying campaign in Group K, which also includes Senegal, Ethiopia and Mozambique, as they target a place at the 2027 AFCON finals, to be hosted jointly by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Three days after the Ethiopia fixture, Sudan will travel to Maputo to face Mozambique in their second group match.
The encounter is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, at the National Stadium in Maputo, with kick-off at 3:00pm Khartoum time.
The opening two fixtures will provide an early test for Sudan as the Falcons of Jediane begin their campaign to reach the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
