JUBA, South Sudan — Rezik Hakim says the opportunity to continue learning was central to his decision to return to Jamus SC, where he has joined Saber Ben Jabria’s technical staff as first assistant.

“My objective remains to continue learning, and I believe I will get it from Coach Saber Ben Jabria,” Hakim told Sports Hunter.

The move comes after Hakim ended his spell as Al Ghazala Wau head coach, a position he took up on July 6, 2026, on a one-year contract with an option for extension.

His tenure started with a positive result as Al Ghazala defeated El Merriekh SC Bentiu 1–0 in the South Sudan Super Cup. 

The Wau-based side then opened their league campaign with a 1–1 draw against Atlabara SC before losing 3–1 to Jamus SC, coached by Ben Jabria.

Hakim resigned on September 4, two days before Al Ghazala's CAF Confederation Cup first-leg encounter with Tanzania's Singida Black Stars.

Later that evening, Jamus announced his return to the club as Ben Jabria's first assistant.

Al Ghazala subsequently suffered a 7–1 defeat to Singida Black Stars at the Juba National Stadium, with CAF describing the Tanzanian side's victory as the most emphatic result of the Confederation Cup preliminary-round first legs.

For Hakim, however, the next chapter is about development.

The coach arrives at Jamus with experience from both senior and youth football. He guided Kator FC to two South Sudan Cup runner-up finishes during the 2021–22 and 2022–23 JLFA seasons.

At academy level, Hakim won the Mubarak Wol Memorial Tournament, organised by Garagir FA, before guiding Future Stars Football Academy U20 to the title in 2023.

Now, rather than taking charge from the touchline, Hakim will work alongside Ben Jabria — a role he believes will provide another opportunity to expand his coaching knowledge.

“My objective remains to continue learning,” he said.

It is a new role for Hakim, but the objective remains the same: to learn, develop and continue building his coaching career.
