JUBA, South Sudan – Yei Joint Stars winger and South Sudan senior women's national team player Mary Anger has revealed that the club's unity and collective ambition are the key reasons the Super Queens continue to train with determination despite the many challenges confronting women's football.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sports Hunter South Sudan, the captain said the players remain focused on achieving their goals and are refusing to let off-field difficulties distract them from their mission.

"One of the things I see within us as the girls is that we have one heart. We all share the same vision and we are aiming to achieve something together. We keep praying that we will accomplish what we are working so hard for, and that's one of the things that keeps us pushing every day," Mary Anger said.

The South Sudan international acknowledged that Yei Joint Stars continue to face financial and logistical challenges, but said the team's unity, resilience and belief have helped them remain focused as they prepare for the upcoming CAF Women's Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers.

Yei Joint Stars, popularly known as the Super Queens, are hoping to build on the experience gained from five consecutive appearances in the regional competition as they target a historic place in the knockout stage for the first time.

Mary Anger's remarks reflect the determination within the squad to overcome adversity and continue raising the profile of women's football in South Sudan through hard work, discipline and a shared commitment to success.
