JUBA, South Sudan — Jamus SC attacking midfielder and Future Stars Football Academy graduate Mario Albano has fulfilled a promise to three young academy players after delivering football boots to Fofona, Johnny and Gasim.
Albano made a significant impact during Jamus SC’s historic campaign at the 2026 CECAFA Club Championship in Kigali, Rwanda, scoring two goals and providing an assist as the South Sudanese side finished fourth.
Among his standout moments was a late goal against defending champions Singida Black Stars, a strike that sparked celebrations among the young players of Future Stars Football Academy back home.
Fofona, Johnny and Gasim sent Albano a video message congratulating him on his goal and Jamus SC’s victory, while also wishing the team success in their pursuit of the CECAFA title.
Although Jamus SC’s impressive campaign eventually ended in the semi-finals, with the club finishing fourth, Albano remembered the support he received from the young academy players.
He delivered the promised football boots during Future Stars’ Saturday training session, personally handing pairs to Fofona and Johnny.
Future Stars Managing Director Sam Surur Dantes received the third pair on behalf of Gasim, who was absent from the training session.
Albano’s gesture underlines the bond between the Future Stars graduate and the academy’s younger generation, while offering an encouraging example to aspiring footballers following his progress on the regional stage.
