Juba, South Sudan- Holy Family FC delivered a convincing 4-0 victory over Koryom FC to temporarily move into second place in the 2026/27 South Sudan Premier League, with four points from their opening two matches.

The result was effectively shaped by a fast start from Holy Family, who found the breakthrough in the 16th minute through Tongrun.

Koryom's hopes of recovering suffered another blow just four minutes later when Ajak was shown a red card in the 20th minute for using his hand to prevent the ball from crossing the goal line.

Holy Family capitalised on their numerical advantage almost immediately. Dut Thongdhang doubled the lead in the 21st minute, before Chol Pato added a third just five minutes later.

With Koryom unable to contain their opponents, Holy Family continued to control the contest and eventually put the result beyond doubt when Chol Vardy scored the fourth in the 74th minute.

The victory lifts Holy Family FC to four points, temporarily placing them second in the league standings.

For Koryom FC, however, the difficult start continues. They remain 14th and bottom of the table without a point, with a -9 goal difference after their opening fixtures.

What's next?

Koryom FC will attempt to get their campaign back on track when they face Atlabara FC in Week 3.

Holy Family FC will next face debutants Munuki SC, with another opportunity to strengthen their position near the top of the table.
