Juba, South Sudan - Somalia’s Heegan FC have arrived in Juba as preparations intensify for Saturday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg against El Merriekh SC Bentiu.
Heegan FC touched down in Juba on Wednesday, September 2, with the Somali side now settling in ahead of their continental assignment against El Merriekh SC Bentiu.
The two sides will meet at Juba National Stadium on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
Heegan’s arrival adds another layer to a highly anticipated continental encounter, with El Merriekh preparing to host the Somali visitors on home soil.
For El Merriekh head coach Jean Claude Loboko, the match provides another opportunity to secure his first victory since taking charge of the Bentiu-based club.
Loboko’s side have opened the new campaign without a win, recording two draws and one defeat across their first three competitive matches.
Heegan, meanwhile, will be looking to leave Juba with a positive result before the return leg.
