JUBA, South Sudan — 25 August 2026 — Atlabara FC held South Sudan Super Cup champions Al Ghazala SC to a 1-1 draw in the opening week of the 2026/27 South Sudan Premier League at Bulluk Playground in Juba on Tuesday.
Atlabara made a fast start and took the lead in the 13th minute through forward Christopher Nyang, putting the home side in front.
Al Ghazala, led by coach Rizik A. Hakim, pushed for an equaliser but had to wait until the closing stages of the match.
Experience Versatile forward, Vitali Tabu eventually restored parity in the 77th minute, ensuring the Super Cup champions avoided defeat in their league opener.
Neither side could find a winning goal in the final stages as the points were shared.
The result leaves Al Ghazala temporarily fifth in the South Sudan Premier League standings, while Atlabara occupy sixth, with both teams collecting one point from their opening fixture.
Both sides will now turn their attention to their next league assignments as they look to build momentum in the new Premier League season.
